New Hair Color

I got my hair colored today and it is a little more bold than I've ever done before (it is kind of hard to see in this picture). But I told Aimee I would post a picture for her, so Aimee, this is for you!

Memorial Day with the Grandparents

We were in Twin Falls for Memorial Day weekend visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Gilson. They both celebrate their birthdays early in June, so we had a little "surprise" party for them while we were there. I think they really enjoyed it! Grandpa is 87 today and Grandma will be 83 June 8th.
Of course, we had to make a trip to Shoshone Falls while we were there.
Ukiah definitely kept us entertained the entire weekend. What a cute kid!
Sunday afternoon we went to the cemetery to visit some graves. The one above is my grandpa's sister and her husband. Below are his parents. Sadly there are tire marks on this picture, but we didn't bring anything to clean it off with. Next time, I will make sure I get a better picture.

Race for the Cure

I love Temple Square in the Spring. I'm glad we made it downtown this weekend to get a glimpse of the beautiful tulips. They last for such a short time, but are sooo gorgeous! My ward Relief Society ran the Race for the Cure today! It was such a fun experience and very cool to be around so many people who are cancer survivors. We had about 10 girls from the ward show up. It was great!

Afterward Meghan, Sara, and I walked around downtown. We went to the new Deseret Book, took pictures of the tulips, went up to the observation deck of the Church Office Building and went to another bookstore before riding the tracks back home. The view from the top of the Church Office Building is incredible. What a way to see the city!

Fun in St. George

We went to the beautiful St. George Temple and visited the Visitor's Center there and walked around a little. It was gorgeous! Also, a little shout out to my parents, today is their 32nd Wedding Anniversary!! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! I love you!!

Next, we took a tour of Brigham Young's winter home.

And the last stop on our Church History tour was the home of Jacob Hamblin. I really enjoyed learning about his life of service to the Lord and how influencial he was in working with the Indians. According to my roommate, a lot of the stories are not factual and the Church has been doing a lot to get the story straight. I'm interested in finding out how much of what I learned is actually true.
My Aunt Debbie is really into Pickleball and I hadn't played since I was in Middle School. It was just as fun as I remembered. Now all I need to do is find out if they have Pickleball courts in Salt Lake.

What a great weekend!!

I Heart General Conference

There are few things in this life that help me feel so wonderful as listening to our Latter-day prophets, seers and revelators. With conference coming to a close this afternoon, I have so much to reflect on and change in my life to become more like my Savior. But the most wonderful feeling is that it is possible. Everyone should listen to it!! Saturday afternoon was especially great for me! And my favorite talk so far was from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. It was such a beautiful and bold testimony of true love.

What a wonderful way to spend Easter weekend--learning of the Savior, remembering His great sacrifice, the Atonement, and being reminded how we can become more like Him. I love the Lord and I KNOW HE LIVES!! Joy is found through Him, even in the hard times. And for that I am grateful!!
Happy Easter!

I've been on vacation for two weeks and it has been GREAT! The first week I spent in Arizona with my dad. It was just the two of us and I had a great time. We are probably the two quietest people in our family, but I think we did well together. We went on a tour of Colossal Cave, which is the only dry cave in the area. It was pretty interesting.

We also went to Old Tucson, where John Wayne filmed several of his movies. It was probably the funnest day I had. I really enjoyed the environment. It would be a great place to take a family for sure!!

We also went to a Spring Training game. The Mariners were playing the Diamond Backs. It was my first "professional" baseball game. Of course none of the big players were playing, but it was a good time. Thanks Dad!! I had a great time with you!!

After we left Tucson, I went to visit Aimee and family. Sadly, (and I am really kicking myself now) I didn't get any pictures. But I loved being with them. Cole is as cute as ever and saying more words. He now knows my name and would ask for me in the mornings and after every nap, it really made me happy. And Lola is the cutest ever. She is tiny and beautiful. I LOVED holding her and miss her already. I had such a great time with Aimee and Sean too; I wish we didn't live so far apart. Thanks for letting me visit! I love you guys!!

I'm Off....

I love being off track! It is great to be able to relax and have the time to do things. I'm really excited about the next two weeks I have planned. Tomorrow I fly to Arizona with my parents for a week. Who knows what we're going to do, but it will be great to spend time with them. Then I am off to Seattle for a week to see the Bergams. I can't wait to meet little Lola! Plus I love my little Cole, so I'm excited to see him. And I guess it will be good to see Aimee and Sean too ;). I'll have to post pictures of the fun things we do, so stay tuned...
